The 43rd annual Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) begins March 27 and runs through Apri

We’re proud CIFF has selected Women in Film and Television Ohio (WIFTOH) to participate in the international festival.

WIFTOH advocates for the equality of women in the screen industries. We are dedicated to the advancement of women in film, television and new media.

WIFTOH is championing the film, Simple Wedding.

The film directed by Sara Zandieh explores how cultures clash and families collide when an Iranian woman finds love with an eccentric bisexual artist.

Zandieh is an Iranian-American filmmaker. She holds an M.F.A. in film directing from Columbia University’s School of Arts, is a recipient of the Fulbright Grant for filmmaking, the La Fémis director’s workshop, and a MacDowell Colony fellowship. Simple Wedding premiered in the US Fiction Competition at Film Independent’s 2018 LA Film Festival.

There are three screenings of the film: April 3 – 6:50 p.m. (SIMP03) April 5 – 11:30 a.m. (SIMP05) and April 6 – 9:35 a.m. (SIMP06)

Ticket prices for films are $14 per film for CIFF members and $16 for non-members. Tickets are available online, by telephone (1.877.304.FILM), in-person at the Film Festival Box Office in the lobby of Tower City Cinemas, or by mail using the Program Guide order form. Program Guides are available at all Dollar Bank branches, Cleveland Cinemas locations, and most libraries.

CIFF43 will take place at Tower City Cinemas, as well as the Gordon Square Arts District and University Circle.

The Festival will showcase 211 feature films and 237 short films representing 71 countries. Be sure to check clevelandfilm.org for program updates.
